Hi everyone,
My name is Cindy Papale, author of The Empty Cup Runneth Over, and breast cancer survivor.
The Empty Cup Runneth Over is to help inspire, empower, and educate young women about breast cancer. In my twenty seven years working at the University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine, eleven of those years I worked for a breast surgeon. While the University of Miami Leonard Miller School of medicine is a wonderful hospital many young women still sometimes hear those words "you are too young to have breast cancer, let's wait six months and we will do another exam and possible ultrasound." This is not only at the University of Miami, but by many other institutions. This is just not acceptable! We all must continue to be proactive.
The Empty Cup Runneth Over is a treasure trove of information from not only physicians at the Uhiversity of Miami but at Mount Sinai and in private practice in Miami Dade/Broward Counties. You will also read many stories from young women in their mid twenties who were diagnosed with breast cancer some even misdiagnosed. There is, however, one compelling story from Kristy Lasch who was diagnosed at the age of 22 and lost her battle at 26. Her parents, Tom and Lynn Lasch not only gave me permission to share Kristy's story in my book, but invited me to be Board Member to Kristy's Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 Foundation and helps women under the age of 30 with medical related expenses. Visit Kristy's site at www.kristylasch.org - Had Kristy been alive today, she would be on board to help the "Early Act" get passed.
Currently, I have many ongoing projects to fulfill, and in Kristy Lasch's memory I am hoping to one day see the "Early Act" passed.
Tigerlily Foundation is truly one of the most amazing web sites I have encountered. I love meeting new people and hope to do so through this site. Please send me a friend request, if you like.
Due to large amounts of e-mails through my own web site www.theemptycuprunnethover.com, my IT personnel is currently getting ready to launch a new, amazing site to help others. I hope you all will visit my site as well.
If anyone is interested in sharing their story on my web site, please contact me at tabitha54@gmail.com
Of course please stay in touch with me here on this fantastic site as well. I will visit it daily. My goodness, it took me awhile to set up my own personal page with music and all, you know I will be back!
God Bless,
Cindy Papale/author/breast cancer survivor
