Thanksgiving Holiday

My Thanksgiving Holiday was a blast! I saw family and friends I hadn't seen in forever. But this year was different, I didn't have the energy to cook all night like the year before. Around last year this time, I thought I had good health and strength. But what was going inside of me would shock me and my family. I took for granted what seemed easy last year cooking and enjoying family and friends. I've been through so much this year I give all thanks to God, family, and friends. I am so grateful… Continue

Never Give Up!

You cry and then wipe your eyes and let go and let God deal with it! Those were the words that I remember my Dad telling me when I first found out about my cancer diagnosis. He aslo said that he would give his own life to let me live. That's when I knew that I couldn't give up or give in to this devastating disease called breast cancer. I was alone the day I found out and soon after everything was schedule to take place, like chemo, labs, doctor visits, I was no longer alone on this journey ahea… Continue

START OF RADIATION THERAPY

I saw my Doctor today, My husband and My Mom were with me. I had plenty of paperwork to fill out of course, new patient thing. I get my vitals checked. The Nurse comments on my beatiful wig, which I love too :) First, the Doctor comes in and he tells me that he is speechless about my path report coming back with no sign of cancer. He told that I had 42 lymph nodes removed. What's scary is that the average person has 9 removed while a rare number have at the max 23 removed, but a 1% of people ha… Continue

BEST NEWS

July 7, 2009 Just two days after my husband’s birthday and on the day Michael Jackson had a memorial and was laid to rest, my husband and Mom were with me in the exam room when we had found out such wonderful news. Dr. Homan, who is the best surgeon around, gave me the news of my life and what I had felt all along deep down inside. He told me he has never seen such a response like mine to Chemo therapy treatments. When he first examined me back in January 2009, he was alarmed at how large and ho… Continue

My reaction to Breast Cancer

OMG! On Jan. 26, 2009, when I heard the words "you have breast cancer" I felt numb! I wanted to cry like a baby, but I held it together until everything was explained to me, plus I was by myslef so I didn't feel as though I really had a shoulder to cry, I didn't to cry on the doctor's and nurses shoulder because at that point they were strangers to me, you know. But, the type of person I am, whenever I'm in a bad situation or I assume the worse then if the situation turns out good, I'm 100% rel… Continue
