Embracing Change

Hi everyone,

We are finally in 2009 and many of us have made resolutions to do this or that and to create a better life, with better choices and more joy and prosperity than the previous year.

As I sat down to think of all that had happened in 2008, it came to me. In January, I would focus on being grateful for change. As human beings, we are creatures of comfort.

Even the littlest of changes can upset our routines, make us irritable, off kilter and for those who experience major challenges,… Continue

Are you doing your monthly Breast Self Examinations (BSEs)?

If not, why not? Early detection could save your life. If you think you're too busy, you're not. Take five minutes out of your BUSY schedule that doesn't include time to honor your body, lay on your back and DO YOUR EXAM! It could save your life. Take it from me, it saved mine...AND, if you don't do them and there is a cancerous lump, it will take more time out of your life, than you might want - to go through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.... Give yourself the gift of you. Handle your bus… Continue

Breast Cancer Letter from the Heart

Dying to Be Heard

During the month of October we are bombarded with the message that early detection of breast cancer equals cure...that anyone surviving five years from diagnosis is, indeed "cured". This year, I have decided to speak out. Like many other women, I believed that when my breast cancer was detected early and I had the most aggressive treatment available, I had done my job and could look forward to the rest of my life. I believed the… Continue

Hi Maimah,

I am so thankful for the second chance on life. It has been hard having this disease but things are starting to look up. Sometimes I feel like I am not beautiful anymore and try to hard to make myself feel beautiful. But I'm learning its not whats on the outside but what on the inside. And believe it or not I have learned a lot about myself since this diagnosis. I finished my chemo about a month ago and starting to feel a little bit normal. I am still trying to get past the hair loss. I had long beautiful hair like yours and now its bearly there. but I am thanking God everyday now for giving me the fight. God bless you and your beautiful little girl. Take care and thanks for making this site.
